First discovery of Small Shelly Fossils and new occurrences of brachiopods and trilobites from the early Cambrian (Stage 4) of the Swedish Caledonides, Lapland

New fossil discoveries are reported from the Grammajukku Formation at Luobákte south of Lake Torneträsk in northern Swedish Lapland, including a fauna Small Shelly Fossils (SSF) limestone bed uppermost part formation and new occurrences brachiopods trilobites siltstones lower formation. The moderately diverse SSF is first its kind Caledonides includes record tommotiid Lapworthella schodackensis bradoriid spine Mongolitubulus spinosus Baltica, together with fragmentary specimens Bradoria sp. remains one additional arthropod, protoconodont helcionelloid mollusc. In addition, yields abundant Botsfordia cf. caelata Eoobolus priscus an unidentified ellipsocephalid trilobite. Lower down Formation, both brachiopod taxa, orthothecid hyoliths, trilobite Ellipsocephalus gripi holmiid were found several levels siltstone, previously regarded as unfossiliferous. These markedly increase known diversity palaeobiota Lapland provide insights into biostratigraphy palaeoenvironment Cambrian Scandinavia palaeobiogeography faunas general.
